The yellow cheese sandwiched between hamburger patties is actually not natural cheese; the yellow cheese called 'American cheese' is a dairy product made by further processing natural cheese made from aged milk. American American cheese, developed by a food inventor, helped popularize affordable dairy products not only in North America but also in Europe and Asia, but at the same time, it had to fight the label of 'processed food.' American cheese is cheese While it can be consumed on its own, it is more commonly used in sandwiches or hamburgers, and it is listed on the ingredient labels of famous fast food franchises. The natural cheese is ground and mixed with various ingredients such as emulsifiers, then boiled until it becomes liquid, then re-hardened through low-temperature pasteurization to reprocess it into a cheese-like shape. During this process, colorants are added to give it an even deeper bright yellow color. Because it is not real cheese made by aging milk, it was labeled as a 'processed dairy product,' and in the United States, the birthplace of American cheese, it was even nicknamed 'plastic.' Referring to American cheese placed on sandwiches or hamburgers is often called "yellow plastic" as a joke. However, the term 'plastic' is not the industrial material we commonly think of, but simply 'the property of easily changing shape or melting.' It was used in that sense. What I mean is that natural cheese is often not suitable for heating because it lacks moisture and the cheese doesn't melt properly, or moisture and oil often separate and form layers. On the other hand, American cheese, which has undergone grinding, heating, and pasteurization, has perfect moisture and viscosity when melted in heat, resembling a flowing sauce, making it a fantastic match with foods like hamburgers, sandwiches, barbecues, and mac and cheese. Experts explained, "Processed cheese is often criticized for not being real cheese, but American cheese is definitely excellent cheese," adding, "Moreover, just because it's natural cheese doesn't mean it doesn't process at all. It doesn't mean it doesn't go through any process. All cheeses must go through processes such as aging, sterilization, fermentation, and doughing, and cheese itself is an artificial thing that doesn't exist in its natural state." They continued, "Just    because processed cheese contains chemicals doesn't necessarily mean it's bad for the human body. Some chemicals can be harmful to the human body even in small amounts, while others can be harmful if consumed in large quantities. Every food we eat has potential benefits and drawbacks, and it's important to balance them," he emphasized,,,,, "American cheese is high in saturated fat, but that's true for other dairy products and meats as well. Occasionally enjoying cheese in a hamburger isn't a bad idea."
